PANTHERS TOP FARMINGDALE STATE, 94-76

Box Score OLDWESTBURY, NY (www.oldwestburypanthers.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's basketball team remained atop of the Skyline Conference standings with a 94-76 victory over the Farmingdale State Rams on Thursday evening at the Clark Athletic Center. 

Old Westbury, which never trailed, got up by 10 with 13:55 on the clock and led 43-27 at halftime. The Panthers controlled the scoring in the second half, 51-49, and led by as many as 28 and won their fourth in a row. 

Most of the damage tonight came from the seniors. Patrick Bonna (Brooklyn, NY) scored a career-high 22 points, knocking down 6-of-8 from beyond the arc and nabbed three steals while Shane DeNully (Bronx, NY) had a game-high 13 assists to lead the Panthers. Hakiem George (New York, NY) finished with 18 points, connecting on 5-of-8 from three point territory to go with four steals while Bill Reese (Selma, AL) registered 15 points on 4-of-8 shooting from downtown and three steals. Frantz Granjean (Brooklyn, NY) followed with 14 points (5-of-8 FG) and a game-best four blocked shots. Lester Prosper (Bellmore, NY) chipped in with eight points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots. 

Farmingdale State got 16 points from both Terrance Howard (Queens, NY) and Shahee Martin (Lakeview, NY). Alvin Dennis (Bellport, NY) registered a double-double, combining 12 points and 10 boards (game-high) in 26 minutes of action. Jason Kulik (Blind Brook, NY) dished out a team-high four assists.

The Panthers shot 53.6 percent overall (30-of-56) while holding Farmingdale State to 42.9 percent (30-of-70). Old Westbury sizzled from three-point range at 51.7 percent (15-29 3FG) and 86.4 percent from the line (19-of-31) while Farmingdale State hit 38.9 (7-of-18 FT) from long distance and 64.3 (9-of-14) from the charity stripe. Old Westbury had a 31-29 advantage in rebounds, 6-1 advantage in blocked shots, and a 25-14 advantage in assists. Farmingdale State held the advantage in steals, 12-11.
