OLD WESTBURY, NY (www.oldwestburypanthers.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's and women's swimming teams were in action Saturday afternoon at home against the Brooklyn Bulldogs in a non-conference meet. Brooklyn defeated OW's women 89-69 and OW's men 98-71.
Cameron Russo finished first in the 50 Freestyle (24.41), 100 Freestyle (57.62) and 100 Butterfly (1:05.28) to lead the Panthers. Stephen Paul captured first place in the 100 Breaststroke with a finish time of 1:16.72 while Luis Montoya took home first place in the 500 Freestyle at 8:08.44.
Leeanna Ladouceur placed first in the 100 backstroke, clocking a time of 1:42.44 and Alex Heaney touched the wall in 1:52.71 in the 100 Breaststroke to finish first. Karen Camargo, Alex Heaney, Christa Foerschner and Samantha Siegler teamed up to register a first-place finish in the 200 Freestyle Relay, arriving at the wall in 2:29.91.
PURCHASE PANTHERS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to the pool on Tuesday (Dec. 7) taking on the Purchase Panthers in a Skyline Conference dual meet on the road in Purchase, New York. Race time is set for 6:30 p.m.
