www.oldwestburypanthers.com) –  The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's basketball team outscored the Sage Gators 34-29 in the second half but trailed by 16 at half time as the Panthers fell on the road Saturday afternoon at the Neff Center. With the loss, the Panthers fall to 8-11 on the season and 7-7 in conference action, while the Gators improve to 10-10 and 8-8, respectively. 
Old Westbury got off to a slow start, falling behind 21-11 with 14:47 to go in the opening half. Sage later pushed its lead up to 17 (35-18) off a Ryan Sager layup with 9:39 remaining in the half. Sage took its largest lead of the game when Jake Douty sank a jumper with 3:05 left in the first half to go up by 18 points (44-26). Sage went into the breaj with a 46-30 lead. 
OW roared out of the second half gates and put together a 19-5 run to pull within two points (51-49) with 12:13 left on the clock. Frantz Granjean's layup with 10:48 tied the game at 53-53 and later took their first lead of the game when he scored to make it 55-54. Sage countered with a 19-5 run from 9:21 to 1:39 to grab a73-60 lead en route to defeating the Panthers 75-64. 
Frantz Granjean finished with a game-high 24 points on 11-of-21 shooting from the field and 11 rebounds (6 offensive) and three blocked shots for the Panthers, while 
Matthew Duffy connected on 5-of-11 from three point territory to finish with 14 points. 
Jamal Little also finished in double digits with 12 points. 
Tymel Ambrose added five assists in defeat. 
Four Gators scored in double-digit points led by the play of Matt Farbotko, who tallied a team-high 17 points. Derick Faragon (14 points, 12 rebounds) and Jake Douty (16 points, 10 rebounds) each registered double-doubles. Pat Lanoue added 15 points to the scoring mix. 
Sage won the boards battle, 47-34, including a 16-15 edge off the offensive glass. Sage also outshot Old Westbury 45.6 percent (26-of-57) from the field to 37.1 percent (26-of-70). OW converted 21 Gator turnovers into 22 points. 
FARMINGDALE STATE RAMS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to the court on Tuesday (Feb. 8), taking on the Farmingdale State Rams in a Skyline Conference battle on the road. Game time is set to tip at 8 p.m. in Farmingdale, New York.
