OLD WESTBURY, NY (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) ––The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's and women's swim teams defeated the visiting Brooklyn Bulldogs in a non-conference meet Saturday afternoon in Old Westbury, New York.

Bryan Woodhead, Thomas Mauro and Kareem Bryan led the men's squad with a pair of individual wins as OW claimed a 114-72 victory over Brooklyn by recording 10 first-place finishes. Season best times were met by Woodhead in the 50 freestyle (21.72) and 100 freestyle (47.97) events while Mauro registered his top-time in the 1,000 freestyle (14:20.89).  Bryan captured first-place honors in the 200 freestyle (2:12.48) and 100 butterfly (1:06.97) events.  Ricky Damiano (200 IM, 2:27.67) and Stephan Paul (100 breaststroke, 1:11.99) also took home first-place finishes.    Woodhead, Paul, Damiano and Carl Nowicki teamed up to notch first-place in the 200 medley relay in 1:47.56. Nowicki, Damiano, Mauro and Bryan also placed first in the 200 freestyle relay at 1:39.61.

Janet Marmol placed the women's squad to a 90-80 victory after placing first in three events.  Marmol earned top honors in the 200 IM (2:37.57) and 100 breaststroke (1:23.75) events while teaming up with Christa Foerschner, Hayley McGinn and Lydia Coleman for top-honors in the 200 freestyle relay  (2:01.65).  McGinn (200 freestyle, 2:49.95), Coleman (50 freestyle, 27.90) and Christina Nelson (100 backstroke, 1:34.21) claimed individual victories.  

SARAH LAWRENCE GRYPHONS UP NEXT FOR MEN'S SWIMMING ON  TUESDAY (JAN. 17); MEN'S & WOMEN TO TAKE ON USMMA / YORK ON THURSDAY (JAN. 19): Old Westbury men's swimming returns to the pool on Tuesday (Jan. 17) in Old Westbury, New York for a non-conference showdown against the Sarah Lawrence Gryphons at 7 p.m.  Men's and Women's swimming will both take on the U.S.M.M.A. Mariners and York Cardinals at home on Thursday (Jan. 19) at 7 p.m.
