OLD WESTBURY, NY (
www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's and women's swim teams split the “Battle of the Panthers” on the road with the Purchase Panthers on Saturday afternoon in Purchase, New York. OW men came away with 97-92 victory while the Panther women fell 121-63.
Bryan Woodhead registered a pair of individual victories in addition to helping the 200 medley relay squad of
Stephen Paul,
Cameron Russo and
Ricky Damiano captured first place in 2:02.28. Woodhead touched the wall first in the both the 100 freestyle (49.02) and 200 freestyle (1:52.05) events. Damiano finished first and recorded his season-best time of 5:42.64 in the 500 freestyle while
Stephen Paul had a career-best time with a second place finish in the 100 breaststroke at 1:09.82.
Cameron Russo collected a 100 butterfly victory in 1:01.40.
Lydia Coleman paced the women with victories in the 50 freestyle (27.29) and 100 freestyle (59.43) races.
Janet Marmol was victorious in the 200 IM, grabbing the wall first in 2:35.18.
Hayley McGinn and
Leeanna Ladouceur both finished third while swimming their season-best times in the 500 freestyle (7:54.41) and 1,000 freestyle (19:31.87) events, respectively.
SKYLINE CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to the pool on Saturday (Feb. 4), in Old Westbury, New York for the Skyline Conference Championship. Race time is set for 12 p.m. from the Clark Athletic Center.
