(www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's basketball team dropped a 76-54 Skyline Conference contest on the road against the Mount Saint Vincent Dolphins from the Peter Jay Sharp Center on Tuesday evening.  The loss moves Old Westbury to 10-9 on the season and 7-5 in conference action while Mount Saint Vincent improved to 8-11 and 6-6, respectively. 

Mount Saint Vincent owned the first half of play by taking a 39-20 lead into the half.  Matthew Duffy's layup put Old Westbury on the board first before the Dolphins responded with a 7-0 run, including five from Shaquille Cunningham.  Rob Sanders and Kerel Mitchell hit jumpers to bring Old Westbury within one point with 14:04 showing on the first half clock.  Mount Saint Vincent replied with 13-2 run from 13:37 to 9:54 to grab a 20-8 lead.  The Dolphins outscored Old Westbury 19-9 over the final 9:32.

Old Westbury's deficit grew to as many as 31 in the second half when Yeuri Santos hit a free throw to give Mount Saint Vincent a 64-33 advantage with 8:40 remaining. 

Rob Sanders lead Old Westbury with 12 points (5-12 FG) and seven rebounds.  Rashawn McCarthy scored 11 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field.  Tavon McNair followed with eight points (2-10 FG) and seven rebounds while recording eight turnovers in 26 minutes of court time.  Kerel Mitchell added a game high two blocks. 

Shaquille Cunningham poured in a game high 27 points, connecting on 9-of-15 from the field, including 4-of-6 from three-point range.  Cody Gauvard followed with 14 points and Chris Bonaventura contributed 12.  Mark Waite pulled down a game high 12 rebounds and Sean Caputo led all players with five assists. 

Mount Saint Vincent outshot Old Westbury from the field 45 percent to 32 percent.  Old Westbury connected on 1-of-12 from three-point land while Mount Saint Vincent hit 6-of-15.  Old Westbury enjoyed a 46-41 rebounding advantage, while turning 21 offensive boards into just nine points.  Mount Saint Vincent converted 21 Panther turnovers into 19 points. 

YESHIVA MACCABEES UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: The Panthers return to the hardwood for a Skyline Conference matchup on Thursday (Feb. 2) when they host the Yeshiva Maccabees in Old Westbury, New York.  Game time is set to tip at 7 p.m. inside the Clark Athletic Center.
