BROOKLYN, NY (
www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) –The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's and women's swimming teams returned to the pool on Friday when they traveled to take on the Brooklyn Bulldogs. The Old Westbury men came away with a 126-98 win while the women fell 121-68 from the West Quad Pool in Brooklyn, New York.
On the men's side, the Panthers finished first in nine of 13 events. The relay team of
Bryan Woodhead,
Santino Patrizi,
Tim Rice and
Carl Nowicki won the 200 medley relay in a time of 1:48.89.
Everett Vasquez, Nowicki,
Kareem Bryan and
Ricky Damiano team up to capture first in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:36.59. Vasquez (200 freestyle, 1:56.78; 100 freestyle, 48.83),
Rashaad Bryan (50 freestyle, 24.98; 100 breaststroke, 56.18) and
Bryan Woodhead (200 IM, 2:09.68; 100 backstroke, 56.18) all tacked on a pair of individual wins.
Ricky Damiano grabbed the wall in 6:12.14 to win the 500 freestyle race.
On the women's side, the Panthers had two top finishers in 13 events.
Janet Marmol paced Old Westbury with a 200 IM victory in 2:38.04. Marmol was a double winner as she combined with
Gabriella Sparaco,
Jennifer Castillo and
Hayley McGinn to win the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 2:08.93.
MARITIME PRIVATEERS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to the
pool on Tuesday (Nov. 27) in Throggs Neck, New York for a Skyline Conference showdown with the Maritime Privateers. Race time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
