OLD WESTBURY, NY
(www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) –The SUNY College at Old Westbury swimming teams swept the Brooklyn Bulldogs on Friday evening from the Clark Athletic Center.  The men won 89-81 to improve to 2-4 on the season while the 98-83 win for the women improved them to 2-6.   The setbacks moved the Brooklyn men to 2-4 while the women now stand at 5-4.

Lydia Coleman paced the women with a pair of individual wins along with a 200 freestyle relay victory when she combined with Janet Marmol, Larissa Kavitsky and Hayley McGinn to finish in 2:01.44.  Individually, Coleman posted a season-best 100 freestyle time 59.82 in addition to clocking a time of 2:19.94 in the 200 freestyle.  Melanie Barone sparked the Panthers with a pair of victories, posting a season-best time of 15:23.64 in the 1,000 freestyle and a time of 1:29.80 in the 100 breaststroke.  Janet Marmol added a finish time of 2:44.60 to win the 200 IM and Rachel Heath captured first place in the 100 backstroke after touching the wall in 1:24.40.

Old Westbury opened the men's meet with a victory in the 200 medley relay as Tim Rice, Zach Abatelli, Kareem Bryan and Michael Bayne teamed up to finish in 2:03.19.  Bryan added a victory in the 200 freestyle in 2:09.57, while brother, Rashaad Bryan, won the 200 IM (2:27.60) and 500 freestyle (6:14.71) events.  Kareem Bryan teamed up with Carl Nowicki, Bayne and Bryan Woodhead to win the 200 freestyle relay in 1:43.80.  Woodhead claimed a pair of first place finishes with season best times in the 50 freestyle (21.61) and 100 backstroke (55.49) races.

MOUNT SAINT MARY KNIGHTS AND MOUNT SAINT VINCENT DOLPHINS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury swim teams returns to the pool on Saturday (Jan. 19) in Old Westbury, New York for a Skyline Conference showdown with the Mount Saint Mary Knights and Mount Saint Vincent Dolphins .  Race time is scheduled for 12 p.m. from the Clark Athletic Center Pool.
