OLD WESTBURY, NY (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) - The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's (1-2, 0-1 Skyline) and women's (0-3, 0-1 Skyline) swimming teams were both defeated Tuesday evening by Maritime (men's and women's 2-1, 1-0 Skyline) at the Clark Athletic Center in the teams' first Skyline Conference meet of the season. The women fell by the cumulative score of 113-84, while the men lost 151-53.
Jessie O'Hagan and
Sandi Woodhead continued their impressive freshman campaigns, both finishing first in all three of their races. O'Hagan competed in the 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard backstroke and the 500-yard freestyle, clocking in at 2:20.36, 1:10.61 and 6:49.95, respectively. Woodhead swam the 50-yard freestyle, 200-yard IM and the 100-yard backstroke, and finished 27.50, 2:29.24 and 1:17.89.
On the men's side,
Bryan Woodhead claimed first place in both of his events—the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke—clocking in at 21.85 and 57.24.
Cameron Russo picked up Old Westbury's only individual second-place finish in the 200-yard IM.
In the relays, both the men and women finished in second in the 200-yard medley. The men also finished in second in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
ST. JOSEPH'S-L.I. GOLDEN EAGLES UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: The women's swimmers return to the pool on Tuesday (Nov. 12) for a Skyline Conference meet at home with the St. Joseph's-L.I. Golden Eagles. First race is set for 6 p.m. from Clark Athletic Center.
