Old Westbury combined to set seven season-best times

(www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) -Ā Ā Four SUNY College at Old Westbury seniors were honored during their final regular season home appearance Thursday at Clark Athletic Center, as the swimming team earned a dual meet split with Sarah Lawrence.Ā 

The men's 92-78 win helped them improve to 2-3 on the season and Sarah Lawrence's 124-79 win dropped the women's record to 2-6.Ā 

The men won both relays (200-yard Medley/2:04.98, 200-yard Freestyle/1:45.10) and collected four individual victories.Ā  Bryan Woodhead (200-yard IM/2:06.54, 100-yard Backstroke/1:05.63, 200-yard Freestyle Relay/21.47 opening leg), Justin Chu (100-yard Breaststroke/1:05.26, 200-yard Medley Relay/30.17 second leg, 200-yard Freestyle Relay/26.96 fourth leg) and Cameron Russo (200-yard Medley Relay/32.94 fourth leg, 50-yard Freestyle/23.36) paced Old Westbury.Ā  Season-best times were set by Woodhead in the 200-yard IM, Chu in the 100-yard Breaststroke and Takis Kellarakos, who turned in a time of 6:17.87 in the 500-yard freestyle for second-place.

For the women, Sandi Woodhead continued her dual meet dominance with a trio of victories which set season-best times in the 100-yard Freestyle (58.76), 200-yard Freestyle (2:14.56) and 100-yard Breaststroke (1:17.47) races.Ā  Her victories improved her to 18-0 to start her collegiate career.Ā  Jessie O'Hagan posted a season-best time of 1:10.08 with a victory in the 100-yard backstroke.Ā  O'Hagan also swam a 28.08 fourth leg in Old Westbury's 200-yard Freestyle Relay victory in 2:01.44.

Throughout the evening, seniors Michael Bayne, Larissa Kavitsky, Thomas Mauro and Cameron Russo were honored with a ceremony for their dedication to Old Westbury.Ā 

U.S.M.M.A., YORK UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS ON SENIOR DAY: Old Westbury returns to action next in 2014 when they travel to Kings Point for a match-up with the United States Merchant Marine Academy Mariners and York Cardinals. Ā Start time is set for 6 p.m. from O'Hara Pool. Ā Ā Ā
