OLD WESTBURY, NY---(www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury baseball will be well represented at two premier Collegiate Summer Leagues across the country when they take the field for competition in the Northwoods League and the Beach Collegiate Baseball League (BCBL).
Lou Bernardi, who concluded his third year as Old Westbury's assistant baseball coach, will travel to Thunder Bay, Ontario, to take on the role of top assistant and pitching coach for the Thunder Bay Boarder Cats in the Northwoods League. Since 1999, the Northwoods League has placed 130 players on Major League Baseball rosters. The Northwoods League consists of 18 teams, which include many of the top collegiate players from around North America. It became the first summer-collegiate baseball league to draw over a million fans in a single season in 2014. Last summer, the Northwoods League began the summer as the largest organized league in North America, and perhaps the world.   Â
