Cross Country Competes in the St. Joseph's Invitational on Saturday Afternoon

KINGS PARK, N.Y. – The SUNY Old Westbury men's and women's cross-country teams competed in the St. Joseph's Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
 
The meet, hosted by St. Joseph's-Long Island, took place at Sunken Meadow State Park in Kings Park N.Y.
 
The women's team placed 15th overall just behind St. Joseph's-Brooklyn and ahead of Queensborough Community College. The Panthers finished with a total time of 2:20:00 and an average time of 28:00. The Panthers earned a score of 347.
 
OW's top finisher was Emily Ganz who finished the course in 25:24.
 
The men's program finished in 13th place just behind Purchase but ahead of St. Joseph's-Brooklyn. Old Westbury finished with a total time of 3:06:51.  The Panthers average time was 37:22 and they earned a score of 352.
 
The top finisher for the men's team was Brandan Reid who finished in 36th place with a time of 32:31.
 
Next up, the team will compete in the Skyline Conference Championships hosted in Purchase N.Y. The conference championships will take place on Sunday, October 26.
