Brandon Cruz Named Faculty Athletics Representative

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – SUNY Old Westbury's Director of Athletics, Lenore Walsh, announced the appointment of Brandon Cruz as the Panthers' new Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR).
 
In his new role as FAR, Cruz will serve as a vital liaison between academics and athletics, ensuring that the student-athletes at Old Westbury are supported in achieving excellence in both their educational and athletic pursuits. He looks forward to fostering collaboration and helping to strengthen the bridge between the classroom and the competitive arena.
 
Since joining OW's Department of Mathematics, Computer, and Information Sciences in 2023, Cruz has demonstrated a strong commitment to student success and academic excellence. He brings more than 20 years of experience working with student-athletes both on and off the playing field, having served as both a game official and high school coach.
 
The Panthers look forward to working with Cruz for many seasons to come and are excited to have him.
