Gallagher Named Skyline Conference Defensive Player of the Week for Women’s Soccer

NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Skyline Conference has announced their weekly award winners from Sept. 8- Sept. 15. Kristen Gallagher has been named this week's Defensive Player of the Week for women's soccer.
 
For the Panthers, Old Westbury had a strong week. The Panthers had two shut-out victories. The Panthers defeated York on Wednesday, 4-0 and CCNY on Saturday, 1-0. The Panthers now sit at 3-1 overall on the season and 1-0 in Skyline Conference play.

Kristen Gallagher continued to dominate for Old Westbury as the Panthers shut out both York and CCNY this week. 
 
Gallagher finished the game against CCNY with five saves after facing five shots on-goal. Gallagher recorded two shutouts this week in net. 
 
Currently she ranks best in the conference in goals against average as well as shutouts per game. She has the most saves in the conference thus far with 14. 

Next up, the Panthers will return to action on Tuesday as the team will play host to Lehman at home. Old Westbury and Lehman will face off from Panther Park at 3:30 PM.
