PURCHASE, N.Y.-The SUNY College at Old Westbury
women's swimming team lost to Skyline Conference opponent, Purchase
College 118-42 on Tuesday evening in Purchase, New York. The
defeat moves Old Westbury to 0-6 on the season and 0-3 in league
play while Purchase College improves to 8-0 and 4-0 in conference
action.
The Panthers were led by sophomore Inez Zuska (Brooklyn, N.Y.)
and freshman Meko He (Guangzhou, China) who won the 500 free
(7:53.37) and 100 breast (2:30.60) respectively, while Zuska was a
member of the first place 200 free relay team.
The squad finished strong when Zuska, freshman Brooklyn Esposito
(Saratoga Springs, N.Y.), junior Aryn Gring (Clay, N.Y.) and
sophomore Mayra Okkotsu (Paterson, N.Y.) combined for a 2:58.16
time on the 200 free medley team that nabbed first place.
The Green and Ivory will be back in the pool on Thursday,
January 22nd when they travel to Kings Point, New York
for a tri-meet with the Merchant Marine and York College.
