@OW_Panthers Swimming sets seven season-best times against New Rochelle and SUNY Cobleskill

Old Westbury returns to campus November 27 for a matchup against Sarah Lawrence College and John Jay College

NEW ROCHELLE, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's and women's swimming registered a total of seven team-best times during Saturday's non-conference road matchup against the College of New Rochelle Blue Angels and SUNY Cobleskill Fighting Tigers inside The Wellness Center from New Rochelle, New York. The Panther men claimed a 116-51 victory from SUNY Cobleskill and dropped a 95-84 decision to New Rochelle while Old Westbury's women fell 114-8 to New Rochelle and 106-13 to SUNY Cobleskill.

The quartet of Austin Young, Aidan McCaughey, Dineer Estriplet and Jonathan Ruiz won the 200-yard medley relay in a season-best time of 1:52.81. Spencer Young, Alex Dupkin, Estriplet and Austin Young combined the claim victory in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:48.09 while Ronald Santana, Robert Chiu, Alberto Matsuura and Timothy Probst touched the wall second in 2:01.54.

Individually, Ruiz grabbed the wall first in the 100-yard backstroke with a season-best time of 1:02.98 followed by Austin Young's second-place finish in 1:07.43. Spencer Young clocked a season-best time (2:28.37) to finish second in the 200-yard freestyle race. Probst captured second place in the 500-yard freestyle (7:15.00) and 1,000-yard freestyle (15:52.35) events to post Old Westbury's season-best distance times. Ruiz (200-yard IM, 2:18.44) and Spencer Young (100-yard butterfly / 1:10.09) both finished second in their respective events.

On the women's side, Julia Zindman set a pair of team-best freestyle times. Zindman earned second place in the 100-yard freestyle (1:14.50) and took third in the 50-yard freestyle (30.25).

SARAH LAWRENCE COLLEGE GRYPHONS AND JOHN JAY COLLEGE BLOODHOUNDS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to campus November 27 for a Skyline Conference showdown against the Sarah Lawrence College Gryphons and a non-conference tilt against the John Jay College Bloodhounds at 6 p.m. inside Clark Athletic Center.
