NEW YORK --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's swimming freshman Joseph Malone was named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week for meets during the November 11-17 reporting period, announced Tuesday by league officials.

In Old Westbury's lone meet of the week against Maritime, Malone, a native of Merrick, New York, finished in first place in the 1,000-yard freestyle in a season-best time of 10:47.63. He followed with a third-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly (59.99) in the 125-85 home setback.

Old Westbury returns to the road Wednesday (Nov. 20) to take on the United States Merchant Marine Academy Mariners, St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) Bears and St. Joseph's College (L.I.) Golden Eagles at 6 p.m. inside O'Hara Pool in Kings Point, New York.
