WOMEN'S SWIMMING FALLS AT SAINT ELIZABETH, 53-32

Old Westbury-Saint Elizabeth Results

MORRISTOWN, N.J.-The SUNY College at Old Westbury women's swimming team concluded the week at non-conference opponent, College of Saint Elizabeth on Saturday afternoon at Saint Joseph Hall in Morristown.  The Panthers fell to the Eagles, 53-32 to move to 0-9 on the season while Saint Elizabeth improves to 1-6.

Freshman Amanda Olsson-Boman (Stockholm, Sweden), sophomore Inez Zuska (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and senior Kate Kelly (Napa Valley, CA) paced Old Westbury.  Amanda Olsson-Boman had a successful collegiate debut, finishing second in both 100 breast (1:21.40) and 200 individual medley (2:44.78).  Inez Zuska had a strong showing as she finished second in the 100 freestyle (1:20.59) and swam an (8:01.91 in the 500 freestyle to capture second place.  Kate Kelley recorded a pair of second-place finishes in the 100 butterfly (1:26.78) and 100 backstroke (1:36.84) events.

Sophomore Mayra Okkotsu (Patterson, N.Y.) finished in second in the 50 freestyle (44.50) and freshman Maureen Finnegan (New Hartford, N.Y.) was second in the 200 freestyle (3:13.94).

Junior Aryn Gring (Clay, N.Y.), Amanda Olsson-Boman, Kate Kelly and Inez Zuska guided the 200 medley relay squad for the Panthers to finish second (2:48.51).  Maureen Finnegan, junior Sarah Grant (Long Beach, N.Y.), Inez Zuska and Amanda Olsson-Boman concluded the meet with a second-place showing in the 200-free relay for Old Westbury. 

The Green and Ivory will be back in the pool on Tuesday, January 27th at 7:00 p.m. with a non-conference matchup on the road at College of Staten Island.  Please visit www.oldwestburypanthers.com for more information on women's swimming or any of the other Panther athletic teams.
