OLD WESTBURY, NY (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) - The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's and women's swimming team returned to its first action in the 2015 calendar year on Monday afternoon for a Skyline Conference dual against the visiting Mount Saint Mary Knights.  The men lost 113-62 and the women fell 125-52.

On the men's side, Tim Rice touched the wall first to claim the 100-yard IM victory in 1:08.81 and later touched second in the 100-yard backstroke (1:09.43) event to lead Old Westbury.  Rice also teamed up with Santino Patrizi, Kareem Bryan and Rashaad Bryan to earn second-place honors in the 200-yard medley relay in 1:57.76.  Jonah Wegener captured second place in both the 500-yard freestyle (8:18.65) and 1,000-yard freestyle (16:26.63) races.  Wegener also combined with Rashaad Bryan, Zach Abatelli and Chaz Lasalle-Cruz on a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay (2:01.21).  Kareem Bryan (100-yard butterfly, 1:08.75) and Angel Arevalo (100-yard freestyle, 1:18.77) each added second-place finishes.    

Jessie O'Hagan paced the women's side with second-place finishes in the 100-yard backstroke (1:10.45) and 100-yar breaststroke (1:36.40) races.  Hayley McGinn (500-yard freestyle, 7:59.74) and Tatianna Pizarro each finished second in the 500-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly races, respectively.  McGinn and Pizarro also teamed up with Mallory Buzyniski and Sezgi Giray to claim first place in the 200-yard freestyle relay (2:11.66). 



USMMA MARINERS AND YORK CARDINALS UP NEXT FOR OLD WESTBURY ON SENIOR NIGHT: Old Westbury returns to action on Wednesday (Jan. 21) for its senior night against the USMMA Mariners and York Cardinals at 6 p.m. in non-conference action from Clark Athletic Center.  The 2015 Old Westbury swimming senior class of Kareem Bryan, Hayley McGinn, Ashleigh Morris and Jennifer Castillo will be honored with a cermony for their dedication to the Panthers' swimming program starting at 5:45 p.m.
