Old Westbury returns home for Thursday’s Skyline Conference showdown with Maritime

BROOKLYN --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's and women's swimming opened their road schedule Tuesday night with a non-conference showdown with the Brooklyn Bulldogs from West Quad Center. The hosts were victorious in the men's race with a 111-94 decision in addition to a 101-89 final on the women's side.

Kayleigh Aiello paced the Panther women with victories in the 200-yard freestyle (2:32.14) and 100-yard butterfly (1:22.14) races. Melanie Barone (1,000-yard freestyle, 16:23.09), Jessie O'Hagan (100-yard backstroke, 1:17.25) and Samantha Imbembo (1-Meter Diving, 167.90) also claimed first-place finishes.

On the men's side, Jonah Wegener (1,000-yard freestyle, 15:15.88), Ian Febres (200-yard IM, 3:16.37), Jonathan Derby (500-yard freestyle, 6:20.04) and Santino Patrizi (100-yard breaststroke, 1:12.89) each took home first-place individual honors. Patrizi also anchored the winning 200-yard freestyle relay team in 1:46.80, which also included Kevin Ryersen, Tim Rice and Zach Abatelli.

MARITIME PRIVATEERS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns home for a Skyline Conference showdown with the Maritime Privateers on Thursday (Nov. 12) at 6 p.m. from Clark Athletic Center.
