@OW_Panthers Women’s Swimming collects 93-75 season-opening win over Mount Saint Vincent

Old Westbury opened the 2016-17 season at home with a Skyline Conference showdown with Mount Saint Mary and Mount Saint Vincent

OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's and women's swimming opened the 2016-17 season at home Friday evening with a Skyline Conference showdown versus the Mount Saint Mary College Knights and College of Mount Saint Vincent Dolphins inside Clark Athletic Center.

Old Westbury claimed victory over Mount Saint Vincent in the women's meet with a 93-75 final, while falling 141-50 to Mount Saint Mary. Mount Saint Mary earned a 152-33 win over Old Westbury on the men's side.

Jessie O'Hagan led Old Westbury individually with a pair of second-place finishes in the 200-yard IM (2:55.57) and 100-yard backstroke (1:14.32) events. Samantha Imbembo followed with third-place finishes in the 500-yard freestyle (8:29.90) and 1,000-yard freestyle (16:34.07) races. Jessica Tuckruskye (100-yard freestyle, 1:22.28), Tatianna Pizarro (100-yard butterfly, 1:35.55) and Megan Hanselman (100-yard breaststroke, 1:36.01) also registered third-place finishes.

On the men's side, Kevin Ryersen, Lorenzo Cusumano, Fabrice Guillite and Ian Febres combined to finished second in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:53.74, while Cusumano, Jonah Wegener, Febres and Ryersen finished third in the 200-yard medley relay in 2:10.32. Individually, Takis Kellarakos touched the wall third in the 200-yard freestyle (2:14.33) and 200-yard IM (3:10.43). Cusumano (100-yard backstroke, 1:21.35), Wegener (1,000-yard freestyle, 16:17.88), Ryersen (50-yard freestyle, 24.92), Febres (100-yard butterfly, 1:15.49) and Jack Costanzo (100-yard freestyle, 1:18.46) all collected third-place finishes.

WILLIAM PATERSON UNIVERSITY PIONEERS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury remains at home next Wednesday (Oct. 19) for a 6 p.m. non-conference battle with the William Paterson University Pioneers inside Clark Athletic Center.
