Old Westbury returns home Nov. 16 for a non-conference showdown versus Lehman

THROGGS NECK, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's and women's swimming returned to Skyline Conference competition Monday evening on the road against the SUNY Maritime Privateers inside Riesenberg Hall Pool.

The Privateers claimed victory over Old Westbury with a 113-74 women's final, and a 131-51 men's decision.

Melody Young led the Panther women with a first-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke event in 1:10.55. Mia Hidalgo touched the wall in 1:34.08 to collect first-place points in the 100-yard breaststroke, followed by Megan Hanselman in second in 1:36.08. Jessie O'Hagan finished second in the 50-yard freestyle in 29.21, while Hidalgo (200-yard IM, 3:00.66) and Tatianna Pizarro (100-yard butterfly, 1:29.73) took home second-place points in their respective events. Samantha Imbembo added third-place finishes in both the 500-yard freestyle (7:52.25) and 1,000-yard freestyle (16:30.48) races.

O'Hagan, Hidalgo, Pizarro and Jessica Tuckruskye earned first-place points in the 200-yard freestyle relay (2:09.93) while Imbembo, Hanselman, Pizarro and Sezgi Giray finished second in the 400-yard medley relay (5:35.51).

On the men's side Takis Kellarakos paced Old Westbury with a time of 6:12.69 in the 1,000-yard freestyle to earn first-place points, followed by Jack Costanzo in second at 9:29.94. Jonah Wegener also collected first-place points in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:38.31.

Kevin Ryersen, Ian Febres, Kellarakos and Chaz La Salle-Cruz combined to finish the 200-yard medley relay in 1:46.93 to register first-place points.
