Old Westbury honored seven seniors Monday evening in its final home contest

OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury swimming closed out their home slate Monday evening with a non-conference senior day showdown versus the Baruch College Bearcats inside Clark Athletic Center.

Baruch claimed victory over Old Westbury with a 116-75 women's final, and a 121-68 men's decision.

Prior to the opening race, Old Westbury's 2016-17 senior class consisting of seniors Sara Bey, Jonathan Derby, Sezgi Giray, Daniel Laferriere, Jessie O'Hagan, Kevin Ryersen and Jessica Tuckruskye were honored as part of the annual senior day ceremony.

On the women's side, O'Hagan collected a second-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle race in 28.99. Old Westbury registered first-place points in the 500-yard freestyle (Bey, 8:40.40) and 100-yard breaststroke (Mia Hidalgo, 1:31.25) events. Bey added third-place finishes in the 1,000-yard freestyle (17:38.55) and 100-yard freestyle (1:17.79) races. O'Hagan, Samantha Imbembo, Tatianna Pizarro and Tuckruskye tallied first-place points after teaming in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 2:09.30.

Takis Kellarakos paced the Panther men by touching the wall second in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:09.28. Old Westbury claimed first-place points in the 500-yard freestyle (Chaz La Salle-Cruz, 8:30.05) and 100-yard breaststroke (Jonah Wegener, 1:30.40) events. Old Westbury also earned first-place points in the 200-yard freestyle relay with Ryersen, Fabrice Guillite, Jack Costanzo and Ian Febres combining to finish in 2:01.60.

PURCHASE COLLEGE PANTHERS UP NEXT FOR OLD WESTBURY: Old Westbury returns to action December 6 on the road with a Skyline Conference showdown versus the Purchase College Panthers at 7 PM in Purchase, New York.
