Eight @OW_Panthers Swimming season-best times fall at William Paterson

WAYNE, NJ --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's and women's swimming combined to set eight season-best times Saturday afternoon on the road in non-conference action against the William Paterson University Pioneers from Wightman Pool in Wayne, New Jersey.  William Paterson swept Old Westbury with a 100-70 men's score and a 99-72 women's decision.

Lennart Stuhr set a trio of season-best times for the Panther men. Stuhr won the 100-yard freestyle in 51.29 and placed third with a season-best time in the 200-yard freestyle (1:29.55).  Jonathan Ruiz, Ian Febres, Takis Kellarakos and Stuhr registered first-place points in the 200-yard freestyle relay to cement a season-best time in 1:42.61. Ruiz set a season-best time in the 100-yard backstroke (1:04.15) to earn first-place points and also placed second in 59.35 to record a season-best time in the 100-yard butterfly.  Febres (500-yard freestyle, 7:49.12) and Robert Chiu (100-yard breaststroke, 1:33.21) also earned first-place points in their respective events. Kellarakos placed third in 26.11 to clock a season-best time in the 50-yard freestyle. 

On the women's side, Nicolette Faldetta touched the wall first in the 1,000-yard freestyle to set a season-best time in 11:21.81.  Samantha Imbembo totaled a season-best 185.78 score to claim victory in the one meter diving event.  Mia Hidalgo earned first-place points in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:31.04) while Rachel Phillips, Shannon Culkin, Faldetta and Imbembo totaled first-place points in the 200-yard freestyle relay (2:14.92).

Golden Eagles and United States Merchant Marine Academy Mariners at 5 p.m. inside Clark Athletic Center.
