@OW_Panthers Swimming opens Skyline road dual slate at Maritime

Old Westbury travels Saturday (Nov. 17) for a showdown with College of New Rochelle and SUNY Cobleskill

THROGGS NECK, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's and women's swimming registered a total of three team-best times during Monday's Skyline Conference road matchup against the Maritime College Privateers (M: 2-0, 1-0 Skyline / W: 1-1, 1-0 Skyline) inside Riesenberg Hall Pool. The Privateers claimed victory over Old Westbury (M: 0-3, 0-1 Skyline / W: 0-3, 0-1 Skyline) with a 142-38 men's final and a 165-12 decision on the women's side to complete the sweep.

Aidan McCaughey paced the Panther men with victories in the 50-yard freestyle (22.91) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.05) races. He also touched the wall second in the 100-yard backstroke event in 59.91. McCaughey's performances helped Old Westbury set a pair of season-best times in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke competitions.

The 200-yard freestyle relay squad of Jalen Bonitto, Alex Dupkin, Timothy Probst and Alberto Matsuura combined to finish in 1:44.01 to take third place.

On the women's side, Adelyn Veras shined by setting Old Westbury's season-best time in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:42.20 to register second place. Veras added a third-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:33.89.

COLLEGE OF NEW ROCHELLE BLUE ANGELS AND SUNY COBLESKILL FIGHTING TIGERS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury remains on the road Saturday (Nov. 17) to take on the College of New Rochelle Blue Angels and SUNY Cobleskill Fighting Tigers at 2 p.m. in non-conference action inside The Wellness Center from New Rochelle, New York.
